Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is a painful condition caused by inflammation of the Plantar Fasciia, or the connective tissue on the foot’s arch tendon. Several things can cause Plantar Fasciitis. It is most often associated with over-pronation (feet rolling inward as you walk), but can also be brought on by high arches or flat feet, running or walking for excessive amounts of time, obesity, shoes that don’t fit well, and tight calf or Achilles’ tendon muscles.

Over-Pronation

Over-pronation, or flat feet, is a very common biomechanical problem that occurs in the walking process when a person's arch collapses upon weight bearing. This motion can cause extreme stress or inflammation on the plantar fascia, potentially causing severe discomfort and leading to other foot problems.

Sever's Disease

Sever’s Disease (also known as calcaneal apophysitis) is a type of bone injury in which the growth plate in the lower back of the heel, where the Achilles tendon (the heel cord that attaches to the growth plate) attaches, becomes inflamed and causes pain.
