I Think I have Plantar Fasciitis. Now What?

March 02, 2018 1 Comment

Plantar fasciitis is unfortunately very common, but there are tactics and remedies you can use to help ease the pain and recover. (If you’re not sure what the signs of plantar fasciitis are, check out this blog post)

One thing you should do immediately, if you think you have plantar fasciitis, is to call your doctor. Your doctor, or a podiatrist, are the only ones that can confirm if you have plantar fasciitis. At your visit they may want to take x-rays to see if the foot pain you’re experiencing may be a stress fracture, bone spur, or other foot problems.

If you’re unable to see your doctor or a podiatrist right away, here are a few suggestions that can provide relief in the meantime.

Rest

Rest your feet. By continuing to put pressure on them, your further causing stress to the plantar fascia, the ligament on the bottom of the foot that connects the heel bone to your toes.

Ice

When the plantar fascia is strained, it tends to get swollen or inflamed. One thing that can help with that is by applying an ice pack to the arch and heel of your foot.

Shoes

Often time, plantar fasciitis makes itself known as soon as you get out of bed and your feet hit the floor.  To help with that pain, put supportive shoes or The X Brace on right after you get up. Walking around without any arch support may make your pain worse.

Stretches

Stretching can help strengthen the muscles that support your arch and make your fascia ligament more flexible. You can find a list of appropriate stretches on our recommended treatment page.

Shoe Insoles

Cushioning insoles are a great way to provide relief from your plantar fasciitis pain. The supportive arches and heel cups of the insole can provide the support your plantar fascia needs. If you are looking for a custom fit orthotic for your shoes, you will need a prescription from your doctor.

Foot Brace

Wearing a brace designed for plantar fasciitis can reduce any pain and discomfort you feel. The X Brace, an elastic brace, is specifically built by doctors for that purpose. It’s minimal in size and very simple to use, making it perfect to wear with any type of shoe.

Once it is confirmed by a doctor that you have plantar fasciitis, we highly recommend you follow their treatment plan. The remedies and tools we provide above are suggestions that can help supplement what your doctor has laid out.

Great product

My daughter uses The X Brace everyday and she is experiencing good improvements with pain management. She is being able to train with less pain.

Purchased from Japan.

SHIPPING

I live in Japan, so I was expecting quite a delay in receiving my package, but it came within a week. Very quick service and the X Brace team even emailed me to make sure I had received it and was able to use it.

PRODUCT

As far as the X Brace goes, its really great! I was actually shocked at how simple/small the design was. I’m usually skeptical of products claiming how “great they are” and how “even athletes recommend” but these braces have gone above and beyond expectation. I can’t even tell I have them on when I’m wearing them. They helped my pain almost instantly. ( my pain was severe so it took a day... lol) it’s easier to walk, run , and even stand now. I’ve been using them for about 3 weeks and even when I do not have them on, I can see the difference in my walking patterns as well as experience little to no pain.

CLEANING
They are VERY easy to clean. Just hand wash using soap and water and hang them to dry at night before you go to bed. They are always nice and clean, and dry when I wake up. I haven’t had to emergency clean and dry yet but the inside of the straps have small rubber grips, therefore I would caution against putting them in the dryer or using any form of artificial heat to dry them.

CONCLUSION

They might look expensive at first glance but the X Brace is completely worth it. I strongly recommend this product to anyone suffering from over-pronation. I will be buying another pair very soon just in case something happens to the ones Im currently wearing. Overall, I’m just happy to be able to walk pain free again.

X-brace

Amazing, the pain had gone away from my feet. I tested it and didn't wear them for a few days and the pain returned. I started to wear them again and the pain disappeared. Extremely happy with the purchase.

So far so good

I’ve been using the brace for a couple of weeks now. It has been offering relief as advertised. Very happy with my purchase.
